What would happen if your life game was as good as your content game?
What if we replaced the perfection we bring to producing content—the flawless, wrinkle-free filters, the audio adjustments that make our voices sound smooth and silky through fluffy microphone covers, the ability to cut out what we don’t like, edit, rewind.
What if we invested that much effort into our own lives?
What if every day we woke up as if we were on a constant Instagram or Facebook live?
How could we strive to be impeccably positive? How would we speak about others, present the food we eat, do a work out, or discuss a topic? Would it be as polished and HD as our social media feeds?
What if, instead of craving likes, shares, collaborations, and followers, we craved sunlight, clean water, organic food, good vibes, and positive thoughts, words, and actions?
What if we chased dreams and prayers instead of the perfect algorithm? What if we connected to the algorithm of life?
You see, life has its own algorithm. It’s happening every moment, and it wants the best for you. It rewards you for being connected to it. Life doesn’t demand changing your content and the way you publish things every so often. Instead, life embraces you more and more as you embrace it.
Life wants you to look up—look at the stars, the clouds, the people around you, the reflection of yourself in another or a still lagoon. Life wants you to look in the mirror and ask, "How can I be better today?" It doesn’t want you hunched over, endlessly scrolling, trying to get “somewhere”.
Your phone, your social media, your laptop, your TV—they have an agenda. They want your attention, your time, your life. But while you’re glued to the screen, the real social media live…life itself is happening all around you! Your ancestors are behind you, watching your every move, praying you keep moving forward and make them proud.
They didn’t survive disease, famine, violence, and danger so you could spend your days scrolling on a screen. Let that sink in for a minute……
Now this is your cue to hold down the left and right button and slide to power off. Go outside and power off your disconnection and slide into reconnection.
Reconnect with life itself, with your ancestors, with nature that surrounds you. Nature isn’t "out there"—it’s all around us. We are submerged in it; we are on Mother Earth. Climb a mountain, sweat, work out, light a fire, hug your kids, pray for someone, drink water, breathe, smile, and connect to your heart. Everything is okay.
Yes, we live in a world with social media, and I’m reaching you right now through an online platform. But let’s use these tools to promote and support each other, always staying connected to life itself—the Creator and Mother Earth.
For all our relations!
